#2000

Sorry, this specimen is SOLD.

Tourmaline var. Schorl on a very nice deep blue Beryl var. Aquamarine cluster from the Erongo Massif, Omaruru, Namibia.

Nice gemmy "jack-straw"cluster on a larger cloudy grading into gemmy crystal. Very clear glass luster to the aqua's.  Some minor damage

to two of the crystals as can been seen in the photos.  Most of the schorl is un-terminated but it really doesn't detract.

All the aqua's have an interesting capped style termination. It appears as the crystals were terminating with beveled edges when a new and last stage

of growth  occured where the habit was changed to pinacoidal; it just never completely finished the termination before growth ended.

This is illustrated  in the second photo. They are clear with no damage other that stated.  Two are healed over breaks from formation within the vug

and are subordinate on the aesthetics.   Very clean and better than my  photogarphic skills at this point.  All are very  gemmy at thier tops and the

deep blue that emminates  from within really shows up under the  cabinet lights.   Overall, a very well balanced piece.       9x6x5cm    $475
